Panasonic Digital Phone

Panasonic began in 1918 when Konosuke Matsushita invented a two-socket light fixture. Panasonic has since grown into one of the leading electronics companies with an impressive list of products like the first recordable DVD. One of the leaders in the mix of wonderful Panasonic products is the Panasonic digital phone.

The Panasonic digital telephone comes in a number of models covering a variety of needs. The models are divided into two main categories; the 5.8 GHz phones and the 2.4 GHz phones.

Here is a review of the highest and lowest priced phones in each category:

  • Panasonic KX-TG2420W - A 2.4 GHz phone reselling at $34.95. This telephone uses Frequency-Hopping Spread Spectrum Technology which constantly hops from channel to channel to reduce interference and keep people from eaves dropping. The 2420W has short antenna and you can turn off the ringer and let the light at the base of the antenna alert you to a call. This phone also has a handset speakerphone and Call Waiting Caller ID.
  • Panasonic KX-TG4000B - This is the highest price phone in the 2.4 GHz range at $499.95. It is a 4 line, multi handset cordless phone system. This phone system can be used for a small business since you can plug in the base unit and then place optional cordless handsets in desired locations. You don't need a phone jack for each additional base. There is also an all digital voice mail system, back up power for a limited time if the power goes out, and call waiting caller ID.
  • Panasonic KX-TG5421S - This is the $59.95 5.8 GHz digital phone. This digital phone has the same features as the KX-TG2420W although the 5.8 GHz wavelength has much less traffic than the 2.4 GHz wavelength.
  • Panasonic KX-TG6502B - This is the most expensive 5.8 GHz digital phone at $259.95. It is a two line, dual-handset cordless phone system with an answering machine. You can use up to four handsets with just one phone jack and there is a silent antenna alert and a handset speakerphone.
